1Day 01
Faiyum Oasis, Meidum Pyramid and Lake Qarun
Early in the morning, our guide will pick you up from your hotel to begin the trip to the city of Faiyum, 110 km south of Cairo, where you will see the impressive and fertile landscapes of the Faiyum Oasis. Your first visit is to the archaeological zone of Meidum, where the pyramid of Pharaoh Honi of the Third Dynasty is located. You can visit it from the inside. Then, continue to the Pyramid of Hawara, built of adobe and dating back to the Middle Kingdom. Next, follow the road to an ancient temple dating from the Roman era, known as Qasr Qarun, passing through Lake Qarun, one of the most important areas of the oasis. Its saline waters lie below sea level. On the way back along the same road, enjoy lunch on the shores of Lake Qarun. Here, you can appreciate the rich local fauna, characterized especially by the great diversity of birds. In the afternoon, return to your hotel in Cairo.
