Know before you go: Krakatoa Island is one of the world's super-active volcanoes and was the site of the largest eruption in recorded history in 1883. Many volcanologists refer to that period as the Dome Days. It was one of the deadliest volcanic events, killing 36,000 people and causing tsunamis of more than 30 m.; In 1927, Anak Krakatau (Krakatoa) was born. It has now grown to 420 m above sea level and continues to be known as Anak Krakatau, meaning the child of Krakatoa.

Itinerary

1Day 01
Jakarta to Carita and Hike on Anak Krakatau
Meet the tour guide, who will pick you up early in the morning at 5:00 a.m., and then drive to Carita Beach. Sail across the Sunda Strait by fast boat at around 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. The journey takes about 1 hour. Along the way, you may see flying fish, groups of small tuna, dolphins, and other beautiful views, depending on the weather. Continue sailing around the volcano, Anak Krakatau. Land on the island and hike up to the first level of Anak Krakatau. Head back to the beach for lunch, then enjoy swimming and snorkelling at the campsite on the mother of Krakatau to observe the coral reef. Set up the tent in the afternoon at Big Krakatau, Anak Krakatau, or Panjang Island, close to the ranger post. Have dinner at the camp while enjoying the firewood and barbecue fish. After that, enjoy free time at your own leisure. Overnight in the tent. Note: Check the weather conditions for sailing to Krakatoa Island, where you may see lava fireworks if the eruption is still ongoing. Meals: L/D

2Day 02
Snorkelling Around Krakatau Islands and Return to Jakarta
Enjoy the surroundings of the Krakatau Islands, have breakfast, and then go to Big Krakatau for snorkelling at Lagoon Cabe. Sail back to Carita by boat, which takes around 2 to 5 hours. Lunch will be provided around the beach while you enjoy swimming and snorkelling. Continue to Carita's west coast. After lunch, drive back for your transfer to Jakarta Airport, which takes about 2 to 3 hours. End of trip. Meals: B/L
