Königsallee, Altstadt and Medienhafen Walk

Meet your guide and set out on a holistic journey through Düsseldorf, a city with political influence, a birthplace of techno music, a thriving cultural centre, and a place of cutting-edge architecture. We will begin the tour with a stroll along the city's most glittering and glamorous quarter, the elegant shopping boulevard Königsallee. Enjoy scenic views of the landscaped canal that runs along the boulevard's centre as we explore the luxury stores lining its sides, giving the area a distinctly Parisian feel. Next, we will make our way to the heart of the city, the notorious Old Town known as Altstadt, which has many exciting stories to offer - most of them connected to Germany's favourite beverage: beer! Here, we will unpack the fascinating story of how this former fishing village on the banks of the tiny river Düssel earned the title of "the longest bar in the world" and what exciting, dramatic, and curious events unfolded over time. Your guide will also share insights into the beer brewed in one of the four brewpubs in the Old Town. During our walk, we will also explore fascinating stories associated with the city, from Heinrich Heine's birthplace and a famous princess' castle to totalitarian rulers on horseback and Napoleon's favourite street.
