Corinth Canal, Ancient Corinth, Acrocorinth and Olive Oil Tasting
Meet your professional driver and begin with a drive along the coastal road. During the ride, you will see Greek seaside villages and the island of Salamis, where the historic naval battle between the Athenians and the Persians took place. Make your first stop at the incredible Corinth Canal. Opened in 1892, it separates the Peloponnese peninsula from the rest of Greece and connects the Saronic Gulf with the Corinthian Sea. You will have the pleasure of walking across the pedestrian bridge to admire the canal up close. For the adventurous, bungee jumping is also available on some days. Continue to Ancient Corinth. Historically, the city was dominated by the hill of Acrocorinth, the oldest and largest castle in southern Greece. The site at the base of the hill includes the Roman Agora of Corinth, the Temple of God Apollo, and a small museum. In addition to its archaeological and historical importance, Ancient Corinth is also one of the most popular religious destinations in Greece. It was here that the Apostle Paul preached Christianity, was judged by the tribunal in the Agora, and established the best-organized Christian church of the time. Then drive up to the imposing castle of Acrocorinth to take great photos of the Corinthian Gulf and admire this incredible fortress. After leaving the site, visit an oil press. You will have the opportunity to walk around an old olive grove, see the olive press, watch a video about olives, and taste olives and olive oil. You will also pass through Almirki during the tour. Finally, make your way back to Athens.
