Fernkloof Valley Hike to Kanonkop and Lemoenkop Peak
7:30 am: Depart for your hike from the main entrance. Follow the 8.2 km Kanonkop to Lemoenkop Peak trail, leading up along the Fernkloof Valley while observing the various fynbos species in flower along the way. Continue on to the magnificent indigenous Boekenhoutsbos, a remnant Afromontane forest pocket where some fabulous specimens of indigenous trees can be found. After your visit to the forest, make your way up the mountainside. At the top of Kanonkop, take a rest and have a cup of coffee and snacks while enjoying the fabulous views before continuing down the Adder Ladder trail towards Lemoenkop Peak.
