Fafião, Pedra Bela and Peneda-Gerês Heritage
Pick up from your hotel in Guimarães and drive to Gerês National Park to explore the villages inside the park. Visit the village of Fafião, where people live from pastoralism, cows, and goats, and where there is still a wolf trap. Savour a typical village lunch. Visit the Pedra Bela viewpoint and pass through Mata de Albergaria, a UNESCO Biogenetic Reserve and a fully protected site within the park. Pass through the area of Vilarinho das Furnas, a village that was submerged to build a dam. The visit ends with a tasting of local products made and sold in the Peneda-Gerês National Park.
