Peneda-Gerês Heritage Villages and Scenic Landscapes
Departure from Porto. Arrival in the village of Lindoso, with a visit to the local castle and espigueiros. Visit Nossa Senhora da Peneda Sanctuary. On the way, stop at one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the region, with a very high probability of seeing wild horses (garranos). Visit Soajo for lunch, followed by a short walk through the village to the place where the espigueiros stand - granite storage structures used to keep corn dry and safe from animals. The Espigueiros do Soajo are one of our most interesting heritage sites, representing old farming traditions. On the way back to Porto, stop at multiple places, depending on the time remaining, to enjoy other amazing viewpoints, waterfalls, and monuments.
