Wadi El Natroun Monasteries Excursion
A tour representative will pick you up from your hotel in Alexandria and drive to Wadi El Natroun, considered the heart of Christianity, where you will learn more about the history of Christianity in Egypt. The drive takes around 2 hours. The Wadi El Natroun area once consisted of 50 monasteries, but only four have survived. First, visit the oldest monastery, Al Paramus, one of the most famous monasteries in Egypt. Then continue to Anba Makar, sometimes called Anba Makaryus, which is the first monastery in the Wadi El Natroun area. Proceed to Anba Bishoi Monastery, where his body can be found, and then visit El Suryan Monastery, the smallest of the four monasteries. At the end of the tour, transfer back to your hotel.
