Leave the cruise terminal of Livorno Port and enjoy a drive towards Florence in a comfortable Mercedes-Benz. Drive up to the beautiful Viale dei Colli and admire the marvellous view of the city from Piazzale Michelangelo Terrace, named after the artist who sculpted the original David statue. Appreciate the white and green marble facade of the S. Miniato al Monte church, a perfect example of Florentine Romanesque architecture. Follow an uphill road bordered by the ancient city walls to reach Forte Belvedere. This stunning fort was built around 1590 by Grand Duke Ferdinand to protect the Medici villas. Head to Piazza della Repubblica, surrounded by historic literary cafes. Then continue to Via De' Calzaiuoli, which connects Piazza del Duomo to Piazza Signoria. Gape at the masterpieces of Renaissance art and breathe in the magical atmosphere that only Florence can offer.
