Sparta and the Ancient Acropolis
We will meet at the modern statue of Leonidas, discuss its significance, and then walk to the acropolis of ancient Sparta, which is close by. There, after discussing the full history of the area and of Sparta, we will visit its monuments. We will also talk about the olive trees and olive oil production, including its benefits and uses. If you wish, we can also visit the olive oil museum of Sparta, but this takes more time and comes at an extra cost. The highlight of the site is the ancient theatre, which we will be able to see from above, while also enjoying the view over the whole valley.
