Day 01

12-Day Lower Manaslu Eco Trail Trek

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m) Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Marvel Treks will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in a private vehicle. After check-in and some rest, you will meet your trekking guide for a pre-trip briefing covering itinerary details, safety guidelines, and equipment checks. Accommodation: 3-Star Hotel in Thamel Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Kurintar and Trek to Ghairung (1,170m) Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Kurintar along the Prithvi Highway, following the Trishuli River. From Kurintar, enjoy a short cable car ride to the revered Manakamana Temple, Nepal's first cable car system and one of the country's most important pilgrimage sites. After lunch, the trek begins toward Bakeshwari Mahadev Temple, followed by a visit to the sacred Lakhan Thapa Cave, associated with Nepal's unification history. The trail then descends via Tinmane Bhanjyang to the village of Ghairung, where you will stay in a traditional homestay. Visit Lakhan Thapa Memorial Park, which preserves important historical artifacts related to Nepal's first martyr. From Bungkot, a pleasant walk brings you to Gorkha Bazaar, the administrative and cultural heart of the district, offering comfortable teahouses and lodges. Accommodation: Teahouse or LodgeMeals: Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerDuration: 5-6 hours | Distance: 13.3 km Day 4: Gorkha Bazaar Excursion Today is dedicated to exploring Gorkha's rich heritage. Visit the iconic Gorkha Durbar (Palace), the birthplace of modern Nepal, offering panoramic mountain views. Explore Gorakhnath Cave, located just below the palace, and the Gorkha Museum, which houses historical artifacts, weapons, sculptures, and royal belongings. Accommodation: Teahouse or LodgeMeals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Day 5: Trek from Gorkha Bazaar to Sirandanda (1,990m) The trail climbs steadily toward Sirandanda, passing through scenic mountain roads and the village of Bachek, overlooking the Daraudi River. Sirandanda is a hilltop Hyolmo village famous for medicinal herbs, organic farming, and spectacular sunrise and sunset views over Mount Manaslu. The route continues through rivers and forests before reaching Barpak, a culturally rich Gurung village known for its stone-roofed houses and strong military heritage. Laprak is also a stopover point for Manaslu climbers and offers an authentic cultural experience through local homestays. Overnight in a basic homestay shared with local herders. Continue to Gyampesal, the final destination of the trek, where you will stay in a homestay or tented camp.
