Historic Bologna Landmarks and the Quadrilatero

The tour through the charming city of Bologna will allow you to get to know its culture and history like a local. It begins with a visit to the Basilica of San Petronio, located in the historical centre of Bologna. You will also see the Neptune Fountain, built in 1563 to beautify the city and provide drinking water to the public. The tour continues to the main square, where the Town Hall is located, showcasing a hall made up of three separate buildings. You will also visit the courtyards of the University of Bologna, decorated with the coats of arms of wealthy families who studied there. Towards the end of the tour, you will walk through the narrow alleys of the Quadrilatero, the food district of Bologna, where you will get a glimpse of the food shops, bakeries, and delis. You will admire the specialties of these establishments, including Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma, Mortadella, Balsamic Vinegar, and many more. The tour concludes in front of the two leaning towers, Asinelli and Garisenda, built in the early 12th century.
