Chacas, Punta Olímpica, and Pomallucay Church
Depart from Huaraz at 7 am and head north to Carhuaz, ascending towards the Ulta Valley. Make a short stop at Punta Olímpica tunnel, the highest in the world, for panoramic views of Huascarán, Chopicalqui, Hualcán, and Ulta. Admire the green turquoise lagoons of the Andes before continuing your journey. Arrive in Chacas and see the typical buildings and wooden balconies that characterize the town. Explore the Pomallucay Cathedral. Visit the Don Bosco artisans' workshop, directed by a group of Italian religious artisans who carve wood for export to Europe and the United States. Also appreciate the art of glass and weaving. That will conclude your tour.
