Wadi El Natrun Monasteries Excursion
Your tour representative will pick you up from your Cairo hotel to begin the program. Drive to Wadi El Natrun, considered the heart of Christianity, and learn more about the history of Christianity in Egypt during the approximately 2-hour journey. The Wadi El Natrun area once consisted of 50 monasteries, but only 4 have survived. First, visit the oldest monastery, Al Paramus, one of the most famous monasteries in Egypt. Then head to Anba Makar, sometimes called Anba Makaryus, which is the first monastery in the Wadi El Natrun area. Next, proceed to Anba Bishoi Monastery, where you can find his body. After that, continue to El Suryan Monastery, the smallest of the 4 monasteries. Later, return to your hotel to conclude the tour.
